A La Ronde
Drawing from life within the National Trust property.
Objects around the house imbued with the memory of Mary and Jane Parminter, the property's designers and owners who were the first women to climb the summit of Mount Buet in the 18th century during a Grand Tour. Their residence holds collections from their travels and the visual identity surrounding them in the Devon countryside.
These women went against the tide of the time by passing the house down a female line.
